The Mission Statement of the Coos County Coalition is to develop and implement a regional, coordinated set of initiatives to prevent substance abuse by youth.

The Coos County Coalition is a group of agencies and individuals working together to prevent substance abuse by youth. It is a project of the North Country Health Consortium and its partners.

The Coos County Coalition is funded through grants from the NH Division of Alcohol & Drug Abuse Prevention and Recovery and the NH Tobacco Prevention and Control Program. Initiatives include:

  • Dare to Be You and other interactive family programs
  • community and school collaboration
  • community norms change
  • assessment and treatment services
  • training and information on substance abuse issues
  • raising awareness of the dangers of second hand smoke
  • increasing smoking cessation among youth and adults
  • prevention of smoking among youth
  • coalition building.
