The Mission Statement of the Coos County Coalition is to develop and implement a regional, coordinated set of initiatives to prevent substance abuse by youth.The Coos County Coalition is a group of agencies and individuals working together to prevent substance abuse by youth. It is a project of the North Country Health Consortium and its partners.
The Coos County Coalition is funded through grants from the NH Division of Alcohol & Drug Abuse Prevention and Recovery and the NH Tobacco Prevention and Control Program. Initiatives include:

- community and school collaboration
- community norms change
- assessment and treatment services
- training and information on substance abuse issues
- raising awareness of the dangers of second hand smoke
- increasing smoking cessation among youth and adults
- prevention of smoking among youth
- coalition building.
